There is so much to discover in the Palatinate: From nature and history to the amazing Palatinate wines. One of the shorter hikes will take you from our Garden Hotel Heusser to the monastery ruin Limburg which is a former monastery from the dark age, built in the romantic style. On a slightly longer hiking trail, you will walk through the Palatinate forest to the Hardenburg district and its castle ruin Hardenburg. This castle ruin is still one of the most impressive ones in the Palatinate. Even older monuments are to be found on the other side of the Isenach stream such as the Celtic ringfort, the so-called "Heidenmauer" as well as the Roman quarry "Kriemhildenstuhl". One of the new long-distance hiking trail, the Palatinate "Weinsteig" takes you through Bad Dürkheim, its forests and beautiful vineyards. The Palatinate Weinsteig is, among the Palatinate "Höhenweg" and the Palatinate "Waldpfad", one of the three new long-distance hiking trails in the Palatinate. The Weinsteig is known for its beautiful vineyard, calm forest passages and scenic wine villages. In-between the trail offers great views of the Rhine plain right up to the Odenwald. The Palatinate forest has some comfortable huts offering food and drinks, making a great spot for a break. Of course we are also happy to prep a brown-bag lunch for you!
