The Finnish sauna is probably the most popular one which is why it is also called the classic sauna. For the most part, the sauna is a place to relax, but it also contributes greatly to the activation of the immune system, stimulation of the blood flow as well as the generation of the skin. The sauna is to be enjoyed nude, having showered and completely dried off before the first sauna session. It is up to you to choose the lower, middle or upper bench to sit on. If you are new to having saunas, we recommend you the lower one as this is the place where it is the least hot. Of course it is important that there won't be any sweat dripping on the wood benches: Please sit on a towel. The sauna session will last between 10-15 minutes. For a stable immune system it is important to cool off in-between the sauna sessions. A lukewarm foot bath is also very pleasant and therefore highly recommended.
Having a sauna is ideal to re-energize. The shifts between soothing heat followed by the cold strengthens the body's defences and nourishes and purges the skin.
The sanarium is similar to the Finnish sauna but the temperatures are lower. It is an ideal alternative for those who find the Finnish sauna too hot. At around 60°C and a maximum of 55% humidity you will experience a very gentle climate which is perfect to relax. Color rays have a stabilizing effect on the organs. This phenomena is also called the "primal energy".
The Maximus oven in the sanarium of the Wellness and Gardenhotel Heusser automatically pours water over heated rocks every 30 minutes. Experience this beautiful spectacle in our sanarium or enjoy the sight of it from the outside during a warm foot bath in the Kneipp basin.
Visiting our sanarium can help with metabolic defects, circulatory disorders, susceptibility to infection and with tensions of the muscles. Chronic pain such as back pain can be soothed.
Experience the deep warmth of an infrared sauna in the Wellness Oasis of our Garden Hotel Heusser. Infrared rays are a form of natural radiation, similar to the radiation of the sun. This thermal radiation enters the top layers of the skin and heats the body up from the inside out. Infrared radiation enters the body and stimulates the circulation. You will start to sweat from the inside out.
The sweating will happen without any kind of added heat as the room temperature only rises a little. The body generates a kind of short term desired fever, with all the positive effects. The purging that is also taking place purifies the body, leading to an overall improved well-being. Unlike the sauna, the infrared cabin does not put a strain on the body's circulation. This way you can also use the cabin while having a flu (with the consent of your doctor). Infrared cabins work with room temperatures of 35 - max. 50°C.
At the Garden Hotel Heusser you will have a soothing steam bath which you can use any time while you stay with us during the opening hours of our Wellness Oasis at no additional charge. Steam has the unique power to enhance your well-being. While you are encased by the hot steams, you will get the feeling of pure delight.
You can also ask us about out varied selection of peelings for self-peeling (additional costs). These nourish the skin and make it as soft as velvet. Our Spa Team will provide you with the peeling of your choice - a combination of sea salt with either honey, grape seed, ginger or coconut - so you can use it during the time we have reserved for you.
The ergonomically formed seating surface guarantees a relaxed and comfortable experience. The backrest is leaned back slightly to support the back and is heated as well.
Relaxing foot baths perfectly top off this feel-good experience on the heated bench. We recommend you to also consider the possibility to use the Kneipp basin for alternating baths prior to the sauna, for the regeneration of tired feet or simply after having finished a heat treatment.
