The barrel was built in a traditional form and manner. It is however colossal in its size. The outer appearance is already very impressive and worth a visit. In 1934, the cooper Fritz Keller used almost 200 fir trees, each around 40 m in length, from the northern Black Forest. Inside the barrel, you will find a restaurant which is decorated in the style of a traditional Palatinate wine tavern. In the barrel of Bad Dürkheim you can experience excellent Palatinate cuisine and enjoy some of the regional Palatinate wines.
